This is Jocko and this is his story.
Jocko is 11 year old neutered blue heeler. Within the past week, his owner who he has been with his whole life has gone to a care facility. Luckily Jocko’s neighbors had been taking care of him while his owner was first hospitalized going over twice a day, feeding him and letting him outside. But now we have learned that his owner will not be returning home, so Jocko needs a new home.
Jocko is house trained, neutered and is up-to-date on his vaccinations .
Jocko likes other dogs. He can be shy at first around people he doesn’t know, but will quickly warm up to you if you have some treats. His favorite treats are hot dogs .
Jocko’s previous life he was with his owner every day and went everywhere with his owner. He loves to hang out in the house, and he also likes to be outside.

Introducing Pickles, our most recent intake at Wallowa county Humane Society. Pickles was picked up as a stray by some good Samaritans outside of Elgin. They found her tied up. She was very skinny and dehydrated. The good Samaritans tried to find her owners, but no owners have come forward.
After 3 weeks, she has been fed and well cared for, and she is ready to find her forever home or foster home.
Pickles is a young female hound and she is starting to learn commands and how to walk on a leash she gets along well with other dogs. We don’t know how she is around cats and small animals.
Pickles ideal home would be a home who is familiar with this breed and could give her the training and the home life this breed needs to be the best they can be. A fenced secure yard is a must to keep her contained and safe from running like hounds want to do. She likes children and other dogs.
Pickles is house trained and she just had her vaccinations.

SOLA - A Blue Cream Spayed Female Torte, born in 2021. She enjoys talking with her very tiny, almost inaudible meow. She is shy at first but with love and patience will become your best friend. She gets along well with our other foster cats in the home, but prefers her space and cubby holes to hide in. Her favorite thing is a good butt scratch and rubbing against her people to show her affection.

Meet Bella, our gorgeous 10-year-old Bengal cat, looking for a loving forever home. Bella is spayed and has been an indoor cat for most of her life, though she enjoys the occasional outdoor adventure. She is a charming and talkative companion, often spending her days running around the house, engaging in lively conversations. Bella adores attention and is very playful, making her a delightful addition to any family.
She gets along wonderfully with kids and other pets, showing her adaptable and friendly nature. We took Bella in from a local friend here in Wallowa County, but, sadly, our current situation doesn't allow us to keep her.
