Wallowa County Humane Society Raffle
Thank you all who participated in our raffle for a beautifully framed landscape oil painting by the late local artist Bob Fergison. A special thank you to Wallowa Valley Festival of the Arts Council and the Josephy Center in Joseph for making this a successful event.
A big thank you to Gary Bethscheder, owner of the Subborn Mule, for inviting us to participate again this year in the Thunder Run. $5 dollars was donated to the Wallowa County Humane Society for each dinner sold at his restaurant Thursday night. We made a lot of contacts and visited with a lot of people both local and tourists. Gary supports the Wallowa County Humane Society year round by having our donation can at his Restaurant.
Our Outreach Trailer was set up once again for four days at the Wallowa Co. Fair. We visited with lots of folks from around the county and visitors to the area too. Raffle tickets for the Bob Fergison's oil painting were sold as were some of our other items. Three kitties were adopted that morning on the way to the fair. Our two entries, "Animal Sanctuary " entered under Collection for an organization, and one of our Scrapbooks, entered under Crafts, took a blue ribbon, each. This is one of many ways that we participate around the community.
Our locally famous WCHS outreach trailer participated in this year's Watershed Festival, held each year on the last Friday in June at the Wallowa County Fairgrounds. The Watershed Festival is always a fun-filled event for kids and grown-ups, with many attractions that will both entertain and educate.
We handed out animal-related material for the kids, and sharing information about what we're doing for the people and pets of Wallowa County. No animals were adopted this year at the Festival, but we had lots of folks stop by to take a look!
Share Your Heart – February 11, 2017
10 A.M. 3 P.M.
What better way to celebrate the Valentine's Day spirit than to “Share Your Heart”!
We held events at the Info Center, Ace Hardware and Copper Creek Mercantile. Our volunteers met with the community to answer questions, hand out info and Valentine's Day candy. We also took information from those wanting to adopt or volunteer and people new to Wallowa County.
Volunteers Cassie and her husband David were also at the Banquet manning our Trade table. Thank you Volunteers!
January 2017 started off with one of our own Humane Society Volunteers receiving a Citizen Award for Leader of the Arts at the Wallowa County Chamber Awards Banquet.
Lots of volunteers attended showing their support. Congratulations Tom!
In 2016, Wallowa County Humane Society found homes for just over 50 of our four-legged friends!
"Between November and December, 2016, we had our Santa Paws and Silent Auction. Together they brought in over $500 for our Pets! And, funds were also raised for Morgan Meow Meow's surgery! Another successful fundraiser!"
Wednesday, March 2, Lear’s Main Street Pub & Grill
Lear’s hosted a wonderful 3-course Italian dinner. The cost was $10 per plate and we had a great attendance. All proceeds from food sales benefit the Wallowa County Humane Society.
Plenty of raffle tickets were sold for Mary Edwards’ print.
The WCHS would like to thank Lear’s Main Street Pub & Grill for its generous donation of the food for this event.
ANNUAL BAKE SALE
Saturday, March 26, 2016
The WCHS bake sale was a great success! We almost sold out of some very nice baked goods. People loved the idea to pick up decorated and tasty things for Easter, ready to go.
We reached our goal of $200 +, and we sold over 70 raffle tickets for the Mary Edwards photo, “From The Air.”
Many thanks to Loree Osborne, Deanna Van Doozer, (Liberty Bakery), Denise Clevenger and Carol Vencill for your donation of time and the great variety of homemade eats, including the wonderful and whimsical bunny-shaped dog biscuits.

3 Weekends in July
Labor Day Weekend
WHITETAIL FARM, JOSEPH, OREGON
"Summer Barn Sale was a success! Over 3 weekends we made over $1500.00 from donated items. Thank you Wallowa County!"
Lots of folks donated their treasures. We had all kinds of household items, including furniture, which is always our best seller. Of course, all donated items were greatly appreciated! Donations for the barn sale as well as donations in dollars help to keep us moving forward with Humane Society expenses, especially our spay/neuter program, which is our biggest expense.
Major thanks to Carol for hosting the barn sales, and all the volunteers for this tremendous undertaking on behalf of Wallowa County Humane Society!
Opening day for the 2016 Wallowa County Farmers Market in downtown Joseph. The weather was bright and beautiful, bringing out the crowds to browse all the booths.
The Wallowa County Humane Society always brings a delightful assortment of goodies and useful products for yourself and your friends, as well as the critters in your life. We’ll be at the Farmers Market one Saturday each month. Come on by and see what’s new and delicious. And if your four-legged friend is thirsty, we have a water bowl ready and waiting!
Monday, October 31, 5:00 p.m.
Main Street Enterprise
The WCHS Info Center stayed open for the annual Trunk or Treat event in Enterprise. There were pets available for adoption, Halloween cookies and a hot beverage for our visitors.
We love having the kids stop in to see us, and provided info just for them.
