Success Stories

This small female Labrador mix was found running down 12th and Ski Run Road, just south of Joseph, on Sunday, July 17.  She is a very sweet dog!  She was wearing a brown collar with the number 24 painted on the inside.

Sophie had been missing since July 4th, when she became terrified of the fireworks and ran off.  Her owner was on his way back to LaGrande when he got the news that Sophie had been found.  So he turned right around to come back and get her.

Thank you, Cookie and Denise, for making sure this wonderful girl found her way back where she belongs.  It’s a happy ending for both Sophie and her owner!

**Update on Morgan Meow Meow**

Thanks to numerous donors, Morgan had his surgery and it was a success. He is recovering nicely and is walking with little help. Morgan is looking forward to having a normal kitty life. Thank you again!

This sweet little fella was found abandoned, with his pelvis and hind legs broken. Bev Wyffels came to his rescue, but the vet gave her a difficult choice: save money by amputating the more damaged leg, or go for the costly surgery that would save both his legs.

For Bev, there really was no choice. She wanted to give this brave guy the best possible life. Bev scheduled surgery to have Meow Meow’s legs pinned, saving him from having to endure an amputation. Meow Meow came through the surgery with flying colors. He’s a happy and loving kitten, almost 4 months old now. He pottys just fine, eats well, and he purrs and cuddles to let everyone know that he thinks life is wonderful.

Morgan Meow Meow is recuperating nicely. He’s still in confinement as he heals and grows stronger with lots of love and attention. Bev needs our help in raising funds to help pay for his surgery. The surgery cost $900, and there will be more expenses, including antibiotics and follow-up visits to the vet. Bev is getting close to her goal, but donations are still very much needed.

If you’d like to help, visit the YouCaring donation page for Morgan Meow Meow. Bev tells the remarkable story of how he was found and ended up in her care. You can donate a few dollars or a lot. Every little bit helps! Bev also set up a Facebook page for the little guy.

You can also donate through Paypal Friends & Family. Send the funds using Bev’s email address, corgikisses at eoni dot com.
